So far, we needed to make these squares with the Tri Rec tools, which I had in my template arsenal but never used yet. When I am working on big projects, I like to have on Netflix movies. This time I chose Shakespeare In Love, one of my faves while piecing. I should have snapped a better pic of her being happy! Next time....
I have the needed 92 Orange and 96 Neutral blocks according to step 1.
Apparently, I had one partial block left over that didn't have enough pieces for it to be finished.
I try to count properly, but I seem to have more than I need. That 's better than not having enough!

ReplyDeleteYeah, I decided I was NOT going to buy more fabric for this project so every useable piece of orange I had was recruited!
ReplyDeleteI count and recount and pin in sets of ten and count again, lol still I never have the same number of parts! I had to cut a few extras the other day and most likely I will find them again--I might have miscounted a set of ten or two...all part of the fun! You are off to a great start!
ReplyDeleteThese look lovely - I really like orange! I always lose count too when I am making a quilt. The extras can always be put on the back or in another quilt.
ReplyDeleteExtras are good. Loving the process! Putting extras in the backing is a great option! I've even used extra blocks to attach to pillow case centers or edges. Or, if there's enough, why not make a crazy quilt?
