Long Arm Time - Christmas Throw

True, it was January and I received a throw to quilt and bind for someone. But I didn't mind. My tree was still up! 

Let's take a look at it!

Simple but effective in telling many holiday stories.

I chose to stitch holly leaves around the outer border. 

And put bows and garland around each box. Kinda like they were gifts!

This gave the back a beautiful lacy look. 

It goes back to its owner tomorrow. I know it'll get plenty of use!

Long Arm Time - Field of Flowers

This quilt pattern didn't have a name so I dubbed it Field of Flowers!

It started out as this top. 

On to the long arm it goes!

The allover design I decided to do is of daisy flowers. 

Next, the binding will be done and off it will go to its home!

Long Arm - Red Poppies

I love working on other peoples' quilts! Have I ever said that before? Probably have. Here is a gorgeous one that was made by a beautiful lady who is an inspiration to me. 

Red Poppies!

The quilt is stunning! Here's what I did to it. 

Outline the flowers

Do some cross hatching

Meander through these panels

And outline the leaves (which gave it a trapunto effect)

All the borders got this in it

Quilting the Arts

I received a very pretty quilt top that needed quilting. All the panels in it were of famous money paintings. It was set up in the long arm and I thought about how to sew over those six beautiful panels. I decided to use a variegated yellow thread to accent the colors in the panels. 

Here's what developed. 

How fun it was to stitch the paintings!
