Tucker Attachment

Tucking and pin tucking can seem like a tedious task but is achievable with the tucker attachment.

The unit has two bars before the needle hole. The first one makes a crease line in the fabric as you sew. The number settings are spaced by 1/4”. The next one is the distance the unit will sew the seam from the edge of the fabric. Its number settings are spaced 1/8” apart. Both are adjustable by turning their knobs for lots of versatility in how the tucks are formed.

Sew beautiful, evenly spaced tucks!

Get your fabric that you want to tuck

Grab one thread and carefully pull it out. If it breaks, and it probably will, find the end and keep at it until it is completely removed.

Doing this will reveal the grainline where your first fold will turn for sewing.

It’s a little hard to see but if you hold the fabric up to the light, you’ll easily see it.

Fold on that line, press and set the fabric in the attachment. It will go in between the two bars and under the area where the needle hole is located. Put down the presser foot bar, hold the threads and start stitching.

While you sew, the unit taps a crease line where the next tuck fold should turn.

Take the fabric, fold at the crease and press it. Unfold the first fold at the seam and press it to the direction you want it to lay. Sew the next seam.

Keep sewing tucks until you have as many as you want in the fabric. On the last seam, adjust the first bar back to zero setting so no crease is made.

Use the tucked fabric in the pattern for your blouse or pillow or whatever you are making! I hope you try out this attachment!
